Legit is an American comedy television series created by Jim Jefferies, Peter O'Fallon, and Rick Cleveland. The series premiered on FX on January 17, 2013, and later moved to FXX for its second season. The show stars Jim Jefferies as a fictionalized version of himself, along with Dan Bakkedahl and DJ Qualls.

The series follows Jim Jefferies as he attempts to become more legitimate in his life, both personally and professionally. He is often accompanied by his best friend Steve Nugent (played by Dan Bakkedahl) and Steve's brother Billy Nugent (played by DJ Qualls), who has muscular dystrophy. The show explores themes of friendship, family, and the struggles of living with a disability.

The show was created by Jim Jefferies, Peter O'Fallon, and Rick Cleveland. Jim Jefferies drew inspiration from his own life and stand-up comedy routines. The series was produced by FX Productions and Pygmy Wolf Productions.

Legit received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised its humor and the performances of the main cast. However, it struggled with ratings, which led to its cancellation after the second season.

Cancellation[edit | edit source]

On May 14, 2014, FXX announced that Legit would not be renewed for a third season. The series concluded with its final episode airing on May 14, 2014.
