Lemhi County is a county located in the U.S. state of Idaho. As of the 2010 census, the population was 7,936. The largest city and county seat is Salmon. The county was established in 1869, named after Fort Lemhi, a mission founded by Mormons among the Lemhi Shoshone tribe.

Lemhi County is located in the central part of Idaho and it covers an area of 4,570 square miles. The county is bordered by Montana to the east and north, and by Idaho County to the west. The county's topography is characterized by mountains, valleys, and rivers, including the Salmon River, Lemhi River, and Pahsimeroi River.
