Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) is a private liberal arts university located in Harrogate, Tennessee, United States. It was founded in 1897 as a living memorial to President Abraham Lincoln. The university offers undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs across various disciplines.

LMU was established by General Oliver O. Howard, a Union Army general, and philanthropist. He envisioned a university that would honor the memory of President Lincoln and provide education to the people of Appalachia. The university's main campus is situated on 1,000 acres in the Cumberland Gap region, a historically significant area where Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia meet.

LMU offers a wide range of academic programs through its various colleges and schools. These include the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business, the School of Education, the School of Allied Health Sciences, the School of Mathematics and Sciences, the School of Nursing, the School of Medical Sciences, and the Duncan School of Law.

LMU is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and competes in the South Atlantic Conference. The university's athletic teams are known as the Railsplitters, a name derived from President Lincoln's humble origins as a rail splitter.

LMU offers a range of sports programs, including basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, tennis, golf, cross country, and track and field. The Railsplitters have achieved success in various sports and have won numerous conference championships.
