Lincoln County is one of the 64 counties in the U.S. state of Colorado. As of the 2010 census, the population was 5,467. The county seat is Hugo. Lincoln County is named in honor of President Abraham Lincoln.

Geography[edit | edit source]

Lincoln County covers 2,586 square miles in the eastern part of Colorado. It is bordered by Arapahoe County to the north, Elbert County to the northwest, Crowley County to the south, and Kit Carson County to the east.

Demographics[edit | edit source]

As of the 2010 census, there were 5,467 people, 2,211 households, and 1,536 families residing in the county. The racial makeup of the county was 94.2% White, 1.0% Black or African American, 1.0% Native American, 0.4% Asian, 1.9% from other races, and 1.5% from two or more races. 10.4% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

Lincoln Community Hospital and Care Center is a 15-bed critical access hospital that provides a range of services to Lincoln County and surrounding areas. The hospital is equipped with an emergency room, inpatient and outpatient services, a laboratory, and a radiology department. The Care Center is a 35-bed long-term care facility that offers skilled nursing care, rehabilitation services, and hospice care.

The hospital is committed to providing high-quality healthcare and has received several awards for its services. In 2018, it was recognized by the National Rural Health Association as a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital for Quality.
