List of researchers in underwater diving

List of researchers in underwater diving is a compilation of individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of underwater diving. These researchers have advanced our understanding of the underwater environment, diving physiology, and diving technology.

- Jacques Cousteau - A French naval officer, explorer, conservationist, filmmaker, innovator, scientist, photographer, author and researcher who studied the sea and all forms of life in water. He co-developed the Aqua-Lung, pioneered marine conservation and was a member of the Académie française.
- Sylvia Earle - An American marine biologist, explorer, author, and lecturer. She has been a National Geographic explorer-in-residence since 1998. Earle was the first female chief scientist of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
- John Scott Haldane - A British physiologist famous for intoducing the concept of half-time in decompression theory and for his work on the physiological effects of diving.
- Albert A. Behnke - A U.S. Navy physician who is best known for his work on the effects of high pressure on human physiology. He introduced the concept of decompression sickness.
- George F. Bond - An American physician, known as "father of saturation diving". He developed the U.S. Navy's SEALAB program.
- Richard Pyle - An American ichthyologist and deep reef explorer. He is known for his work on the twilight zone and for developing decompression models for technical diving.
