Little People of America

Little People of America (LPA) is a nonprofit organization that provides support, resources, and information to individuals of short stature and their families. Founded in 1957 by Billy Barty, a well-known actor with dwarfism, LPA has grown to become the leading authority and voice for people of short stature across the United States.

History

The foundation of Little People of America was inspired by Billy Barty's vision of creating a community where individuals with dwarfism could share their experiences, challenges, and successes. The inaugural meeting was held in Reno, Nevada, and was attended by people of short stature from across the country.
