Olivia "Liv" Boeree (born 18 July 1984) is a British poker player, television presenter, and science communicator. She is renowned for her success in the poker world, particularly for winning the 2010 European Poker Tour (EPT) in Sanremo, Italy. Boeree is also known for her work in promoting rational thinking and science communication.

Liv Boeree was born in Kent, England. She attended the University of Manchester, where she graduated with a first-class degree in Physics with Astrophysics. Her academic background laid a strong foundation for her analytical skills, which later contributed to her success in poker.

Boeree's poker career began in 2005 when she was selected as one of five contestants for the reality television show "Ultimatepoker.com Showdown". This experience sparked her interest in poker, and she began to study the game intensively.
