Louise Mensch
Louise Mensch (born 28 June 1971) is a British author, journalist, and former Conservative Party Member of Parliament (MP). She represented the constituency of Corby from 2010 to 2012. Mensch is also known for her work as a novelist and her involvement in various media ventures.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Louise Mensch was born Louise Daphne Bagshawe in London, England. She attended Woldingham School, an independent Roman Catholic school for girls, and later studied English Language and Literature at Christ Church, Oxford.

Writing[edit | edit source]
Before entering politics, Mensch was a successful novelist, writing under her maiden name, Louise Bagshawe. She has authored several chick lit novels, including Career Girls, Venus Envy, and A Kept Woman. Her books have been translated into multiple languages and have enjoyed commercial success.
Political Career[edit | edit source]
Mensch was elected as the MP for Corby in the 2010 general election. During her time in Parliament, she served on the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee, where she was involved in the investigation into the News International phone hacking scandal. Mensch was known for her outspoken views and active engagement on social media platforms.
In August 2012, Mensch announced her resignation from Parliament, citing family reasons. Her departure triggered a by-election in Corby, which was subsequently won by the Labour Party.
Post-Political Career[edit | edit source]
After leaving politics, Mensch moved to the United States and continued her career in media and journalism. She has written for various publications and has been involved in several online ventures. Mensch is also known for her active presence on Twitter, where she frequently comments on political and social issues.
Personal Life[edit | edit source]
Louise Mensch is married to Peter Mensch, an American music manager. The couple has three children. Mensch has been open about her struggles with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and has advocated for greater awareness and understanding of the condition.
