Lyman County is a county located in the U.S. state of South Dakota. As of the 2010 census, the population was 3,755. Its county seat is Kennebec. The county was created in 1873 and organized in 1893. It is named for W.P. Lyman, a politician.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Lyman County is located in the central part of South Dakota. It is bordered by Hughes and Hyde counties to the north, Buffalo County to the east, Brule and Charles Mix counties to the south, and Jones and Stanley counties to the west. The Missouri River forms the county's eastern border.
