macOS Monterey
macOS Monterey (version 12) is the eighteenth major release of macOS, Apple Inc.'s desktop operating system for Macintosh computers. It was announced at WWDC 2021 on June 7, 2021, and was released to the public on October 25, 2021. macOS Monterey is the successor to macOS Big Sur and was succeeded by macOS Ventura.

macOS Monterey introduced several new features and improvements over its predecessor, macOS Big Sur. Some of the key features include:
- Universal Control: This feature allows users to use a single mouse and keyboard to control multiple Apple devices, including iPads and Macs, seamlessly.
- AirPlay to Mac: Users can now use their Mac as an AirPlay receiver, allowing them to stream content from their iPhone, iPad, or another Mac.
- Shortcuts: The Shortcuts app, previously available on iOS and iPadOS, is now available on macOS, allowing users to automate tasks and workflows.
- Safari Updates: Safari received a significant redesign, including a new tab bar and support for tab groups.
- Focus: This feature helps users reduce distractions by filtering notifications based on their current activity.
- Quick Note: Users can create notes quickly from any app or website using a new system-wide feature.
- Live Text: This feature allows users to interact with text within photos, such as copying and pasting text from an image.
- FaceTime Enhancements: FaceTime received several updates, including spatial audio, Voice Isolation, and Wide Spectrum modes, as well as the ability to share content through SharePlay.
