Majid Arslan
Majid Arslan (1908 – 1983) was a prominent Lebanese Druze leader and politician. He played a significant role in the political landscape of Lebanon during the mid-20th century. Arslan was known for his efforts in promoting the interests of the Druze community and his contributions to the independence and development of Lebanon.

Majid Arslan was born in 1908 in the village of Choueifat, located in the Aley District of Mount Lebanon Governorate. He hailed from the influential Arslan family, which has a long history of political and social leadership among the Druze community. Arslan received his early education in local schools before pursuing higher education in Beirut.

Majid Arslan began his political career in the 1930s, becoming actively involved in the struggle for Lebanese independence from French colonial rule. He was a key figure in the Lebanese nationalist movement and worked closely with other prominent leaders, including Bechara El Khoury and Riad Al Solh.
In 1943, Arslan was elected to the Lebanese Parliament and played a crucial role in the drafting of the Lebanese National Pact, an unwritten agreement that laid the foundation for Lebanon's political system and ensured a balance of power among the country's religious communities. He held various ministerial positions throughout his career, including Minister of Defense and Minister of Agriculture.

Majid Arslan is remembered for his dedication to the Druze community and his efforts to promote national unity in Lebanon. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Lebanese Army and worked to strengthen the country's defense capabilities.
