Malt Shovel Brewery is an Australian brewery located in Camperdown, New South Wales. It is a subsidiary of Lion Nathan, which is a part of the Kirin Group. The brewery is known for producing a wide range of craft beers, including the popular James Squire range.

Malt Shovel Brewery was established in 1988 by Chuck Hahn, a renowned brewer in Australia. Hahn had a vision of creating a brewery that focused on producing high-quality craft beers using traditional brewing methods. The brewery was initially named the Hahn Brewery and was located in the suburb of Camperdown.

In 1998, Lion Nathan acquired the Hahn Brewery and renamed it Malt Shovel Brewery. Under Lion Nathan's ownership, Malt Shovel Brewery continued to grow and gain popularity among beer enthusiasts.
