Mansukh Mandaviya
Mansukh Mandaviya is an Indian politician serving as the Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers in the Government of India since July 2021. A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Mandaviya has been a prominent figure in Indian politics, known for his contributions to healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and rural development. He represents Gujarat as a Member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of India's Parliament.

Mansukh Mandaviya was born on June 1, 1972, in a small village in the Bhavnagar district of Gujarat. He comes from a farming family, which influenced his early interest in rural development and agriculture. Mandaviya holds a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry from Anand Agricultural University, Gujarat, and a Master's degree in Political Science from Bhavnagar University.

Mandaviya's political journey began with his involvement in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of the BJP. His active participation in these organizations laid the foundation for his political career.

He first entered politics as a member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly in 2002, representing the Palitana constituency. During his tenure, he focused on rural development, education, and healthcare projects.
Rajya Sabha[edit | edit source]
In 2012, Mandaviya was elected to the Rajya Sabha. His work in the upper house has been marked by his advocacy for farmer rights, rural development, and healthcare reforms. He has been instrumental in pushing for policies that benefit the agricultural sector and improve rural infrastructure.

In 2016, Mandaviya was appointed as the Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping, and Chemicals & Fertilizers. His tenure saw significant developments in infrastructure and the chemicals and fertilizers sector, contributing to India's economic growth.
In July 2021, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, he was appointed as the Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers. His leadership has been pivotal in managing India's response to the pandemic, including the vaccination drive and healthcare system strengthening.
