Mario De Clercq
Mario De Clercq (born 5 March 1966) is a former professional cyclo-cross cyclist from Belgium. He is most notable for winning the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships three times in his career, in 1998, 1999, and 2002. De Clercq was known for his technical skills and strength in muddy conditions, which made him a dominant force in cyclo-cross during the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Mario De Clercq began his professional cycling career in the early 1990s, focusing primarily on cyclo-cross, a form of bicycle racing that typically takes place in the winter and involves riders navigating through a variety of terrains including mud, sand, and obstacles requiring dismounts and carrying the bike.
