Marrero is a census-designated place located in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, United States. It is situated within the state of Louisiana and is part of Jefferson Parish. Marrero has a total area of 9.1 square miles (23.7 km2), all of which is land. As of the 2010 census, the population of Marrero was 33,674.

The area now known as Marrero was originally inhabited by Native American tribes. The first European settlers arrived in the late 18th century, and the community gradually developed into a small town. The town was named after Louis H. Marrero, a prominent local landowner.

As of the 2010 census, there were 33,674 people residing in Marrero. The racial makeup of the community was 54.7% White, 38.9% African American, 0.4% Native American, 1.4% Asian, and 4.6% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 11.6% of the population.
