Marv Wolfman (born May 13, 1946) is an American comic book writer and editor. He is best known for his work on The New Teen Titans, a series he co-created with artist George Pérez, and for his role in the creation of the character Blade for Marvel Comics.

Early Life[edit | edit source]

Marvin Arthur Wolfman was born in Brooklyn, New York City, New York. He developed an interest in comics at a young age, inspired by the works of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Wolfman attended New York City College of Technology.

Early Work[edit | edit source]

Wolfman began his professional career in the late 1960s, working for DC Comics and Marvel Comics. His early work included writing for titles such as The Tomb of Dracula and Daredevil.

The New Teen Titans[edit | edit source]

In 1980, Wolfman and artist George Pérez launched The New Teen Titans, which became one of DC Comics' most popular series. The series introduced new characters such as Cyborg, Raven, and Starfire, and revitalized older characters like Robin and Wonder Girl.

Crisis on Infinite Earths[edit | edit source]

Wolfman is also known for writing the landmark 1985 series Crisis on Infinite Earths, which was one of the first major crossover events in comic book history. The series aimed to simplify the complex continuity of the DC Universe and had a lasting impact on the company's storytelling.

Later Work[edit | edit source]

In addition to his work on The New Teen Titans and Crisis on Infinite Earths, Wolfman has written for numerous other titles, including Superman, Batman, and Green Lantern. He has also worked on animated television series and video games.

Wolfman has been married twice and has one daughter. He continues to be active in the comic book industry, attending conventions and working on new projects.
