Matthew Thomas Morgan (born September 10, 1976) is an American professional wrestler and politician. He is best known for his time in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Morgan is also known for his appearances in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) and All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW).
Early life[edit | edit source]
Morgan was born in Fairfield, Connecticut. He attended Fairfield High School, where he excelled in basketball. He later attended Monmouth University and Chaminade University of Honolulu, where he continued to play basketball.
Professional wrestling career[edit | edit source]
World Wrestling Entertainment (2002–2005)[edit | edit source]
Morgan began his professional wrestling career in 2002 when he signed a developmental contract with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). He was assigned to Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), WWE's developmental territory, where he trained and honed his skills. Morgan made his WWE debut in 2003 and was part of the SmackDown brand. He was released from WWE in 2005.
Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2007–2013)[edit | edit source]
In 2007, Morgan signed with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). He quickly became a prominent figure in the company, known for his impressive size and athleticism. During his time in TNA, Morgan held the TNA World Tag Team Championship twice and was involved in several high-profile feuds.
Independent circuit and international promotions (2014–2019)[edit | edit source]
After leaving TNA in 2013, Morgan wrestled on the independent circuit and made appearances in international promotions such as New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) and All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW). He retired from professional wrestling in 2019.
Political career[edit | edit source]
In addition to his wrestling career, Morgan pursued a career in politics. He was elected to the Longwood City Commission in 2017 and served as the city's mayor from 2019 to 2020.
Personal life[edit | edit source]
Morgan is married and has children. He resides in Longwood, Florida.
