Matthew Timothy Healy (born 8 April 1989) is an English singer, songwriter, and musician. He is best known as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the band The 1975. Healy is recognized for his distinctive voice, eclectic musical style, and charismatic stage presence.

Matty Healy was born in London, England, to actor parents Tim Healy and Denise Welch. He grew up in Newcastle upon Tyne and later moved to Cheshire. Healy attended Wilmslow High School, where he met future bandmates Ross MacDonald, Adam Hann, and George Daniel.
