McPherson County, Nebraska[edit | edit source]

McPherson County is a county located in the U.S. state of Nebraska. As of the 2010 census, the population was 539, making it the third-least populous county in Nebraska and the eighth-least populous in the United States. The county seat is Tryon. The county was named for Civil War General James B. McPherson.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 860 square miles (2,200 km2), of which 855 square miles (2,210 km2) is land and 4.9 square miles (13 km2) (0.6%) is water.
