Med Jets Flight 056 was a Learjet 55 air ambulance flight operated by Jet Rescue Air Ambulance that crashed on January 31, 2025, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The aircraft was en route from Teterboro Airport in New Jersey to Philadelphia International Airport when it encountered severe weather conditions and crashed during its approach.

The flight departed from Teterboro Airport at approximately 19:45 EST. The crew consisted of two pilots and a medical team, including a doctor and a nurse, who were transporting a patient in critical condition. The flight was scheduled to land at Philadelphia International Airport, but encountered severe turbulence and icing conditions during its descent.

As the aircraft approached Philadelphia, it was cleared for an instrument landing system (ILS) approach to Runway 27R. However, the aircraft lost control and crashed into a residential area approximately 3 miles from the airport. The crash resulted in the deaths of all five people on board.

Investigation[edit | edit source]

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) launched an investigation into the crash. Initial findings suggested that the aircraft encountered severe icing conditions, which may have led to a loss of control.
