Mended Hearts
Mended Hearts is a national nonprofit organization that provides support and encouragement to heart disease patients and their families. Founded in 1951, Mended Hearts is dedicated to inspiring hope and improving the quality of life for heart patients through ongoing peer-to-peer support.

Mended Hearts was established by Dr. Dwight E. Harken, a pioneer in heart surgery, and four of his patients. The organization was created to provide a support network for individuals recovering from heart surgery and other heart-related conditions. Over the years, Mended Hearts has grown to include over 300 chapters across the United States.

The mission of Mended Hearts is to "inspire hope and improve the quality of life for heart patients and their families through ongoing peer-to-peer support." The organization achieves this mission by offering a variety of programs and services designed to support heart patients and their caregivers.
