Mikhail Sergeyevich Boyarsky (born December 26, 1949) is a prominent Russian actor and singer, best known for his roles in Soviet and Russian cinema. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of d'Artagnan in the 1978 film adaptation of The Three Musketeers.

Early Life[edit | edit source]

Mikhail Boyarsky was born in Leningrad, Soviet Union (now Saint Petersburg, Russia). He comes from a family of actors; his father, Sergey Boyarsky, was a well-known actor, and his mother, Ekaterina Milenteva, was a theater actress. Boyarsky graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography in 1972.

Boyarsky's breakthrough role came in 1978 when he starred as d'Artagnan in the Soviet film adaptation of The Three Musketeers. This role made him a household name in the Soviet Union and earned him critical acclaim. He continued to play d'Artagnan in the sequels, including Musketeers Twenty Years After (1992) and The Secret of Queen Anne or Musketeers Thirty Years After (1993).

Other notable films include Dog in the Manger (1978), The Straw Hat (1974), and The Prisoner of Château d'If (1988).
