Mini Cinnamon Churros
Mini Cinnamon Churros[edit | edit source]
Mini Cinnamon Churros are a delicious and popular dessert that originated in Spain. These bite-sized treats are made from a simple dough that is fried until golden brown and then coated in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar. They are typically served with a dipping sauce, such as chocolate or caramel.
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
To make Mini Cinnamon Churros, you will need the following ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions[edit | edit source]
1. In a medium saucepan, combine the water, butter, sugar, salt, and vanilla extract. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
2. Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the flour all at once. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
3. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Alternatively, you can use a plastic bag with a corner snipped off.
4. Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a large, deep skillet or pot over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F (190°C).
5. Pipe 2-3 inch strips of dough directly into the hot oil, using scissors or a knife to cut the dough. Be careful not to overcrowd the pan.
6. Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon or tongs to transfer the churros to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
7. In a shallow dish, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Roll the warm churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture until they are evenly coated.
8. Serve the Mini Cinnamon Churros warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as chocolate or caramel.
Variations[edit | edit source]
There are several variations you can try to customize your Mini Cinnamon Churros:
- Add a pinch of ground nutmeg or cardamom to the dough for extra flavor.
- Fill the churros with a sweet filling, such as Nutella or dulce de leche, before frying.
- Drizzle the finished churros with melted chocolate or caramel sauce for an extra indulgent treat.
