Mnemiopsis leidyi, commonly known as the sea walnut or the comb jelly, is a species of tentaculate ctenophore (comb jelly), native to the western Atlantic coastal waters. Unlike most jellyfish, Mnemiopsis leidyi does not possess nematocysts (stinging cells) and is harmless to humans.
