Morton County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kansas. As of the 2020 census, the county population was 2,667. The largest city and county seat is Elkhart. Morton County was founded in 1886 and named in honor of Oliver P. Morton, who served as the Governor of Indiana during the American Civil War and later as a U.S. Senator.
