Mostar (Template:Lang-bs) is a city and municipality in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is the largest and one of the most important cities in the Herzegovina region. Mostar is situated on the Neretva River and is known for its historic Stari Most (Old Bridge), which is a symbol of the city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Mostar was first mentioned in 1452 and developed during the Ottoman Empire period. The city is named after the bridge keepers (mostari) who guarded the Stari Most. During the Austro-Hungarian rule, Mostar saw significant development and modernization. The city was heavily damaged during the Bosnian War in the 1990s, but has since been rebuilt.

Mostar is located in a valley surrounded by mountains. The Neretva River runs through the city, dividing it into two parts. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot summers and mild winters.

According to the 2013 census, Mostar has a population of 105,797. The city is ethnically diverse, with Bosniaks, Croats, and Serbs being the main ethnic groups.
