NAPHSIS
NAPHSIS (National Association for Public Health Statistics and Information Systems) is a national non-profit organization representing the state vital records and public health statistics offices in the United States. It was established in 1933 and is headquartered in Silver Spring, Maryland.

NAPHSIS was founded in 1933 as a professional association for the directors of state vital statistics offices. Over the years, it has evolved to include all state and territorial health statistics offices, as well as other organizations and individuals interested in public health statistics and information systems.
Mission[edit | edit source]
The mission of NAPHSIS is to provide national leadership and support to the state and territorial vital records and health statistics offices. This includes promoting the use of vital records and health statistics for evidence-based public health practice, policy development, and research.
Activities[edit | edit source]
NAPHSIS conducts a variety of activities to support its mission. These include:
- Providing technical assistance and training to state and territorial vital records and health statistics offices.
- Advocating for policies and funding that support the collection, use, and dissemination of vital records and health statistics.
- Facilitating the exchange of information and best practices among its members.
- Collaborating with federal agencies, professional associations, and other stakeholders to improve the quality and use of vital records and health statistics.

Membership in NAPHSIS is open to state and territorial vital records and health statistics offices, as well as other organizations and individuals interested in public health statistics and information systems.
