Nadia Santini
Nadia Santini is a renowned Italian chef, known for her exceptional culinary skills and her contribution to the world of gastronomy. She was the first woman in Italy to receive three Michelin stars for her restaurant, Dal Pescatore.

Nadia Santini was born in the year 1957 in San Pietro Mussolino, a small town in the province of Vicenza, Italy. She developed a passion for cooking at a young age, learning traditional Italian recipes from her grandmother. After completing her education, she decided to pursue her passion for cooking professionally.
Career[edit | edit source]
In 1974, Nadia Santini married Antonio Santini and moved to his family's restaurant, Dal Pescatore, in Canneto sull'Oglio, Mantua. The restaurant had been run by Antonio's family since the 1920s. Nadia began working in the kitchen under the guidance of Antonio's mother, Bruna Santini, who taught her the traditional recipes of the region.
In 1996, Nadia Santini was awarded her first Michelin star. This was followed by a second star in 1998, and a third in 2002, making her the first female chef in Italy to receive three Michelin stars. Her cooking style is characterized by a deep respect for traditional Italian cuisine, with a focus on high-quality, locally sourced ingredients.
Recognition[edit | edit source]
Nadia Santini's culinary skills have earned her international recognition. In 2013, she was named the World's Best Female Chef by the World's 50 Best Restaurants, an annual list published by the British magazine Restaurant. She has also been awarded the Grand Prix de l'Art de la Cuisine by the International Academy of Gastronomy.

Nadia Santini lives in Canneto sull'Oglio with her husband, Antonio. They have two sons, Alberto and Giovanni, who are also involved in the family restaurant.
