Nantucket County is a county located in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. As of the 2010 census, the population was 10,172. It is the smallest county by land area and second smallest by total area in the state. The county was created by the Massachusetts General Court on June 22, 1695, and consists of the main island of Nantucket and the smaller Tuckernuck and Muskeget islands.
