National Patient Safety Goals

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

The National Patient Safety Goals (NPSGs) is a program established by the Joint Commission in 2003 to improve quality and patient safety. Accredited organizations use the NPSGs to address specific areas of concern in patient safety. The NPSGs aim to enhance the overall safety and well-being of patients in healthcare settings. These goals are regularly updated to reflect the latest evidence-based practices and emerging issues in patient safety. The NPSGs play a crucial role in promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement in healthcare organizations.
