Neste Oyj is a Finnish company, based in Espoo, that specializes in oil refining and renewable products. It is the world's largest producer of renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel, produced from waste and residues.

Neste Oyj was founded in 1948 under the name Oyj Suomen Petrooli Ab by the Finnish state to secure the country's oil supply. In 1955, the company changed its name to Neste Oy. The company expanded its operations over the years, including the production of renewable diesel in 2007.
Operations[edit | edit source]
Neste's operations are divided into three business areas: Renewable Products, Oil Products, and Marketing & Services. The company's main production facilities are located in Porvoo and Naantali, Finland, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and Singapore.
Renewable Products[edit | edit source]
The Renewable Products business area produces renewable diesel, sustainable aviation fuel, and renewable raw materials for polymers and chemicals. Neste's renewable products are produced from waste and residues, such as used cooking oil, and vegetable oils.
Oil Products[edit | edit source]
The Oil Products business area focuses on premium-quality, lower-emission traffic fuels, and provides solutions for industry, heat and power production, and marine use. The main products are diesel fuel, gasoline, aviation and marine fuels, light and heavy fuel oils, base oils, and lubricants.
Marketing & Services[edit | edit source]
The Marketing & Services business area provides solutions for fuel retail and wholesale business, with a comprehensive product and service offering that includes fuels, lubricants, and a range of additional services.
Sustainability[edit | edit source]
Neste is committed to sustainability and aims to become a global leader in renewable and circular solutions. The company's goal is to reach carbon-neutral production by 2035.
