New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange
New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange is a health insurance marketplace established as a part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. The exchange allows individuals and small businesses to purchase health insurance at federally subsidized rates.

The New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange was established in 2013 following the enactment of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act in 2010. The exchange was created to provide a marketplace for individuals and small businesses to purchase health insurance. The exchange is operated by a nonprofit entity that was created by the state of New Mexico.

The New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange serves as a marketplace for individuals and small businesses to purchase health insurance. The exchange provides a platform for comparing and purchasing health insurance plans. It also provides information about eligibility for federal subsidies and Medicaid.
Eligibility[edit | edit source]
To be eligible to purchase health insurance through the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange, individuals must be residents of New Mexico, U.S. citizens or legal immigrants, and not incarcerated. Small businesses with between 1 and 50 employees are also eligible to purchase insurance through the exchange.
Plans[edit | edit source]
Health insurance plans offered through the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange are categorized into four "metal" levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. These categories are based on the percentage of health care costs the plans cover.
Enrollment[edit | edit source]
Enrollment in the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange is typically open from November 1 to December 15 each year. However, special enrollment periods may be available for individuals who experience certain life events, such as getting married, having a baby, or losing other health coverage.
