News Corporation
News Corporation (often abbreviated as News Corp) is a multinational mass media and publishing company founded by Rupert Murdoch in 1980. The company is headquartered in New York City, United States. News Corporation was the world's fourth-largest media group in 2014 in terms of revenue.

News Corporation was created in 1980 by Rupert Murdoch as a holding company for his media assets. The company expanded rapidly through acquisitions, including the purchase of 20th Century Fox in 1985, HarperCollins in 1989, and The Wall Street Journal in 2007.
In 2013, News Corporation was split into two separate companies: 21st Century Fox, which focused on film and television, and a new News Corporation, which retained the publishing operations.
