Ninety-seven is a natural number that follows 96 and precedes 98. It is a prime number, and more specifically, it is the 25th prime number. As a prime number, ninety-seven cannot be divided evenly by any other whole numbers except for itself and one. - It is considered a Chen prime since 97 is a prime number and 99 (97 + 2) is a product of two primes (3 and 33).
- Ninety-seven is also a Sexy prime with 89, since both 89 and 97 are prime and they are separated by 8, which is not a standard definition of sexy primes being separated by 6, showing a unique characteristic.
- In the context of Cryptography, prime numbers like ninety-seven are used in various encryption algorithms, including RSA encryption, due to their properties that facilitate secure key exchange and digital signatures.
