Nuckolls County, Nebraska

Nuckolls County is a county located in the U.S. state of Nebraska. As of the 2010 census, the population was 4,500. Its county seat is Nelson. Nuckolls County is in the Central time zone (GMT -6). The elevation is 1,647 feet.

Nuckolls County is located in the southern part of Nebraska, with its southern edge bordering the state of Kansas. The county has a total area of 576 square miles, of which 575 square miles is land and 0.9 square miles is water.

As of the 2010 census, there were 4,500 people, 1,953 households, and 1,247 families residing in the county. The population density was 7.8 people per square mile. The racial makeup of the county was 97.8% White, 0.2% Black or African American, 0.3% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.5% from other races, and 1.0% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.4% of the population.
