Nucleus Paragigantocellularis (NPC) is a distinct structure located in the brainstem, specifically within the medulla oblongata. It is part of the reticular formation, a network of neurons that plays a crucial role in regulating various physiological processes, including arousal, attention, and the sleep-wake cycle.
