Oakwell Hospital was a former fever hospital located in Birstall, West Yorkshire, England. It was originally built to care for patients with scarlet fever and diphtheria. In 1948, it transitioned to providing care for the elderly. However, in 1962, a smallpox outbreak in Bradford led to Oakwell Hospital being designated for the isolation of smallpox cases.
The hospital had a capacity of 90 beds and played a crucial role in managing infectious diseases in the region. It served as a vital healthcare facility during its operation.
