Ockenden Manor was originally built in the Elizabethan era, around 1520. It was the home of the Burrell family for many years, who were prominent landowners in the area. The manor has undergone several renovations and extensions over the centuries, but it still retains many of its original features, including the timber-framed structure and the large brick chimney stacks.
Hotel and Spa[edit | edit source]
In the late 20th century, Ockenden Manor was converted into a luxury hotel. It offers a range of accommodation options, from traditional rooms in the manor house to modern suites in the spa building. The hotel's restaurant is renowned for its fine dining, with a menu that showcases local Sussex produce.
The Ockenden Manor Spa is a recent addition to the estate. It features a range of facilities, including a swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, and treatment rooms. The spa offers a variety of treatments, from massages and facials to holistic therapies.
