One to One (Apple)
One to One (Apple) was a service provided by Apple Inc. aimed at helping customers get the most out of their Apple products. Launched alongside the Apple Store in 2007, One to One offered personalized training sessions, setup assistance, and guidance on a wide range of topics, from basic device setup to advanced software usage. This service was designed to enhance the customer experience, providing a more individualized approach to learning and using Apple's technology.
Overview[edit | edit source]
One to One service was available for a yearly subscription fee and could be purchased with a new Mac at any Apple Store. Subscribers could schedule up to 52 sessions a year, each lasting up to an hour. The program covered various topics, including Mac OS X, iLife, iWork, and other Apple software applications. It also offered assistance with migrating data from a previous computer, setting up email, and creating a backup strategy.
Services Offered[edit | edit source]
The One to One program included several key services:
- Personal Setup: Assisted new Mac owners in setting up their device, including system configuration, software installation, and basic orientation.
- Personal Training: Provided customized, hands-on training sessions tailored to the customer's skill level and interests. Topics ranged from basic computing skills to advanced photo, video, and music editing.
- Open Training: Offered a more flexible learning environment where customers could work on personal projects with Apple trainers available to assist.
- Group Workshops: Conducted on various topics, these workshops allowed customers to learn in a group setting.
Discontinuation[edit | edit source]
Apple discontinued the One to One service in 2015, shifting focus towards free workshops and online resources. The decision was part of a broader strategy to make educational resources more accessible to a wider audience. Despite its discontinuation, the One to One service is remembered for its personalized approach to customer education and its role in enhancing the Apple retail experience.
Legacy[edit | edit source]
The legacy of One to One lives on through Apple's continued commitment to education and customer support. Today, customers can take advantage of free Today at Apple sessions, which offer a range of educational programs in Apple Stores worldwide. These sessions cover similar topics to those once offered by One to One, including art and design, coding, music, and photography, reflecting Apple's ongoing dedication to helping users get the most out of their products.
