The community is nestled in the northeastern foothills of the Catalina Mountains, approximately 23 miles north of Tucson. Oracle is known for its unique high-desert environment, rich history, and vibrant arts scene.

- Oracle was founded in the late 19th century by prospectors. The town was named after the ship Oracle, which was part of the Union Navy during the American Civil War. The community has a rich mining history and was once a bustling hub during the gold and copper mining era in Arizona.

- Oracle is located at an elevation of 4,500 feet and is considered a sky island due to its high-desert environment. The community is surrounded by the Coronado National Forest and is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna.
