- Osage is a city located in Mitchell County, Iowa, United States. It is the county seat of Mitchell County. The city is part of the Mason City Micropolitan Statistical Area. Osage is known for its rich history, vibrant community, and the natural beauty of the Cedar River and surrounding prairies.

- Osage was platted in 1855, and it was incorporated as a city in 1872. The city was named after the Osage River in Missouri. The city's growth was spurred by the arrival of the railroad in the late 19th century.

- Osage is located at 43°17′0″N 92°48′37″W. The city has a total area of 2.24 square miles, all of it land.
