PIH Health Hospital - Whittier is a hospital located in Whittier, California. It was founded in 1959 as Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital and has been managed by the nonprofit InterHealth Corporation since the mid-1980s. In 2012, the organization changed its name to PIH Health. The hospital has 548 licensed beds and is part of the PIH Health organization, which also operates two other hospitals: PIH Health Hospital - Downey (formerly known as Downey Regional Medical Center) and PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Downtown Los Angeles. PIH Health has a total of 1,130 licensed beds and 26 outpatient clinics across its three locations. The organization also operates medical offices in primary care, specialist care, and urgent care centers in the region. PIH Health is the largest employer in Whittier and one of the largest in that region of Los Angeles County.
