PROSPERO

From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

PROSPERO is an international database of prospectively registered systematic reviews in health and social care, welfare, public health, education, crime, justice, and international development, where there is a health related outcome. Managed by the Centre for Reviews and Dissemination, University of York, PROSPERO was launched in February 2011.

Overview[edit | edit source]

PROSPERO is open to all individuals and organizations conducting systematic reviews for which a protocol can be prepared. The database aims to provide a comprehensive listing of systematic reviews registered at inception to help avoid unplanned duplication and enable comparison of reported review findings with what was planned in the protocol.

Registration[edit | edit source]

Registration is free and can be done online. The registration process involves providing specific details about the review, including the background, objectives, methods, and expected completion date. Once registered, the details of the review are made publicly available on the PROSPERO website.

Benefits[edit | edit source]

Registering a systematic review on PROSPERO can help to prevent duplication of reviews, promote transparency, reduce potential for bias, and improve the quality and value of research.
