Pabst Brewing Company
Pabst Brewing Company is an American alcoholic beverage company founded in 1844 by Jacob Best. The company is known for its flagship product, Pabst Blue Ribbon, often abbreviated as PBR. Pabst Brewing Company is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas.

The company was originally established as Best and Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1860, the company was taken over by Jacob Best's son, Phillip Best, and was later renamed the Phillip Best Brewing Company. In 1863, Frederick Pabst joined the company and eventually became a partner. The company was renamed Pabst Brewing Company in 1889 in honor of Frederick Pabst.

Acquisition and Ownership[edit | edit source]
In 2010, Pabst Brewing Company was acquired by C. Dean Metropoulos & Co. In 2014, the company was sold to Blue Ribbon Intermediate Holdings, LLC, a partnership between American beer entrepreneur Eugene Kashper and the private equity firm TSG Consumer Partners.

Pabst Blue Ribbon has become a cultural icon, particularly among the hipster subculture. The brand has been featured in various films, music videos, and television shows, contributing to its cult status.
Headquarters[edit | edit source]
The company moved its headquarters from Woodridge, Illinois to Los Angeles, California in 2011. In 2020, the headquarters was relocated to San Antonio, Texas.
