Pallars Sobirà
Pallars Sobirà is a comarca (county) located in the Catalan province of Lleida, in the north-east of Spain. It is part of the historical region of Pallars, which was divided into Pallars Sobirà and Pallars Jussà in the 13th century. The region is known for its rich cultural heritage, stunning natural landscapes, and outdoor recreational activities.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Pallars Sobirà is bordered by Alt Urgell to the east, Pallars Jussà to the south, Aran and Alta Ribagorça to the west, and France to the north. The region is characterized by its mountainous terrain, with the highest peak being the Pica d'Estats, which stands at 3,143 meters. The region is also home to the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, one of the fourteen national parks in Spain.
