Pati Jinich is a renowned Mexican chef, TV personality, cookbook author, and food writer. She is best known for her James Beard Award-winning and Emmy nominated public television series Pati's Mexican Table.

Jinich was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico. She later moved to the United States for her higher education. She holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México and a master's degree in Latin American Studies from Georgetown University.

Career[edit | edit source]

Jinich began her culinary career as a policy analyst focused on Latin American politics. However, her passion for food led her to switch careers. She started teaching Mexican cooking classes and later became the resident chef at the Mexican Cultural Institute in Washington D.C.

In 2007, Jinich launched her food blog, which eventually led to the creation of her TV show, Pati's Mexican Table. The show, which debuted in 2011, showcases the rich culinary culture of Mexico and has been praised for its authentic representation of Mexican cuisine.

Jinich is also the author of two cookbooks: "Pati's Mexican Table: The Secrets of Real Mexican Home Cooking" and "Mexican Today: New and Rediscovered Recipes for Contemporary Kitchens". Both books have been well-received and are considered valuable resources for anyone interested in Mexican cuisine.
