Patrik Baboumian is a German-Armenian strongman and former bodybuilder. He was born on 1st July 1979 in Abadan, Iran to Armenian parents. Baboumian migrated to Germany in 1989 at the age of 10. He is known for his impressive strength and his advocacy for a vegan lifestyle.
Early Life and Career[edit | edit source]
Baboumian developed an interest in weightlifting at a young age. He began his career as a bodybuilder and later transitioned into strongman competitions. In 1999, he won the title of "Junior Bodybuilder of the Year" in Germany. He continued to compete in bodybuilding until 2005, when he decided to focus on strongman competitions.
Strongman Career[edit | edit source]
Baboumian's strongman career has been marked by numerous records and achievements. In 2007, he won the title of Germany's Strongest Man by winning the open division of the German Strongman Nationals. In 2011, he set a world record by carrying a 150 kg beer keg for 40 meters. In 2012, he set another world record by carrying a 550 kg yoke for 10 meters.
Vegan Advocacy[edit | edit source]
Baboumian is a vocal advocate for veganism. He adopted a vegan diet in 2011 and has since used his platform to promote the benefits of a plant-based diet for health, athletic performance, and animal welfare. He has been featured in several documentaries, including The Game Changers, which explores the impact of plant-based diets on athletic performance.
Personal Life[edit | edit source]
Baboumian currently resides in Germany. He is married and has a daughter. In addition to his strongman career and vegan advocacy, he is also a trained psychologist.
