Pearland is a city located in the state of Texas, United States. It is a part of the Houston metropolitan area and is situated in Brazoria County. With a population of approximately 122,460 as of 2020, Pearland is one of the fastest-growing cities in the state.

Pearland was founded in 1894 by Witold von Zychlinski, a Polish nobleman who named the town after his hometown in Poland. Initially an agricultural community, Pearland experienced significant growth in the 20th century due to its proximity to Houston. The city's population has steadily increased over the years, transforming it into a vibrant and diverse community.
