Perkins County is a county located in the U.S. state of Nebraska. As of the 2010 census, the population was 2,970. Its county seat is Grant. The county was established in 1887 and named after Charles E. Perkins, president of the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad.

Perkins County is located in the southwestern part of Nebraska, with its southern boundary on the border of Nebraska and Colorado. The total area of the county is 884 square miles, of which 883 square miles is land and 1.1 square miles is water.

As of the 2010 census, there were 2,970 people, 1,246 households, and 846 families residing in the county. The population density was 3.4 people per square mile. The racial makeup of the county was 97.6% White, 0.2% Black or African American, 0.5% Native American, 0.3% Asian, 0.9% from other races, and 0.5% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.4% of the population.
