Pete Fenson is an American curler from Bemidji, Minnesota. He is best known for leading the United States to a bronze medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. This was the first Olympic medal ever won by an American team in the sport of curling.

Early Life and Career[edit | edit source]

Fenson was born on December 29, 1968, in Bemidji, Minnesota. He began curling at a young age and quickly showed a talent for the sport. He competed in his first United States Curling Championships in 1993, finishing in third place.

Olympic Career[edit | edit source]

Fenson's first appearance at the Winter Olympics was in 2006 in Turin, Italy. He led the United States team to a bronze medal, marking the first time an American team had ever medaled in curling at the Olympics. Fenson also competed in the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics, but did not medal.

Coaching Career[edit | edit source]

After retiring from competitive curling, Fenson turned to coaching. He has coached the United States men's team at several World Curling Championships, helping the team to several top-ten finishes.

Personal Life[edit | edit source]

Fenson is married and has two children. He owns and operates a pizza restaurant in his hometown of Bemidji, Minnesota.
